Dog Grooming Parlour in Cape Town – Open 7 Days a Week, 365 Days a Year
Dogs get muddy on Sundays and public holidays too. The atFrits grooming parlour in Cape Town City Centre is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, so you can book a groom on a weekend, Christmas Day or New Year's Day. Grooming hours are 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Sunday. Our parlour is part of atFrits, the first dog hotel in South Africa (since 2015), and the hotel itself is open 24 hours a day, every day. We haven't closed a single day since 1 December 2025.
Grooming every day of the year
Most groomers work weekdays only, which leaves busy owners squeezing appointments into lunch breaks. Our parlour is open every day, including weekends and public holidays, so you can pick a day that suits you. Grooming runs from 08:00 to 16:30 every day.

Combine grooming with daycare or a hotel stay
Once your dog has settled in at daycare, many owners add a groom to a daycare day so their dog goes home clean after a day of play in our 750 m² dog park. Hotel guests who already know us can book a groom before checkout so they leave fresh after their stay. We never groom a dog on their first day or assessment day. Daycare runs from 6am to 7pm; the hotel is open 24/7/365. December holiday boarding · Puppy daycare
Calm, careful handling
Grooming should be a good experience for your dog. Our groomers take time to let dogs settle, handle nervous dogs gently and tell you if they notice anything you should mention to your vet, such as skin irritation or sore ears.
Your dog's first groom
We don't groom dogs on their first day at atFrits. Think of a child's first day at school: new teachers, a new class and new friends are plenty to take in, and nobody would add a haircut to that day. Some dogs don't enjoy being groomed, and we never want a bath or clippers to be the reason your dog feels anxious about coming back to the hotel.
So daycare dogs are only groomed once they've settled in and feel at home with us. When your dog is ready, tell us if it's their first ever groom and we'll keep the session short and gentle, so they learn that grooming is nothing to worry about.

Can my dog be groomed on their first day?
No. Just like a child's first day at school, a dog's first day at atFrits is about getting to know us and feeling safe. Some dogs don't enjoy being groomed, and we don't want that to make them anxious about the hotel, so daycare dogs are only groomed once they've settled in.
